At Sita Kelly Photography, I focus on capturing those special early moments of parenthood and sweet newborn details that change so rapidly. Each session is designed for a stress-free experience and beautiful photos you'll treasure forever.

What is lifestyle newborn photography?

My lifestyle newborn photography style is natural, simple and connected. No unnatural poses or elaborate props. Just you, your partner and your new baby spending time together as a new family during those first precious days. My goal is to create timeless, light filled, emotive images that never go out of style (or make you cringe years later!)
This is a once in a life time opportunity to capture this fleeting time in your life and I am honored to be able to create images for families that will be treasured for a lifetime.

Step 1: Scheduling your newborn session

If we haven’t already discussed it, the easiest way for us to coordinate calendars is to email or call me with your estimated due date. I try to be as flexible as I can with families and once we settle on an estimated date, you’ll pay the session fee of Rs3500 which reserves your date on my calandar.

Here are a few things to consider when scheduling your newborn session:

—Newborns are sleepiest and curliest within the first 10 days of life so I love to do newborn sessions within that window. But things happen - and if it doesn’t work out that way, that’s absolutely fine and we will still get beautiful images of this special time. And we might get some wonderful wide awake images of your baby too!

—If you know the exact date your baby will be born, then we can go ahead and choose a date for your newborn session. If you don’t, then just let me know when baby arrives and we will find a day within 10 days after their arrival. I will have penciled you in on my calendar according to your expected due date.

—Weekends are limited and in demand and therefore incur an additional Rs3500 charge in addition to the regular session fee

Step 2: The Session Fee

The session fee of Rs3500 books you in on my calendar and covers all of our planning phone calls, the prep guide, what to wear guide, shooting the session, editing the images and creation and delivery of the gallery and slideshow.

Image and print collections are purchased separately from the session fee, after our session.

Step 3: The session itself

Once we’ve scheduled a time and date for your newborn photo session, I’ll send you a questionnaire and prep guide that will walk you through everything from choosing outfits to how to prepare your home. It should answer most questions you might have, however I’m happy to set up a chat if you have additional questions or concerns.

A few days before our session date, I’ll reach out to confirm the time and location.

On the day of your session, please block off 2.5-3 hours for your newborn photo session. It typically will be done in under 2 hours but I don’t charge by the hour so if we need to take a break for a feed or a change then we have that flexibility.

Finally, take a breath and relax. I will guide you through interactions and poses that result in beautiful, natural and connected images the entire time.

Step 4: The fun part!

Within a couple of weeks after our session, I will send you an email with a link to your slideshow that includes all of your edited images.
After you’ve had a chance to marvel at your photos and get a feel for which collection you’d like to purchase (you’ll have a couple of days to decide which collection is right for you and you can purchase right from the link).
You’ll then have one week to select your favorite downloads and I can assist in sourcing print products if you desire.
